Resumen
La evolución continua del COVID-19, especialmente con las nuevas variantes, plantea desafíos en el manejo de las complicaciones respiratorias, metabólicas y cardiacas. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar las complicaciones respiratorias, metabólicas y cardiacas en personas infectadas con COVID-19. La metodología empleada consistió en una revisión documental de tipo descriptiva, que implico una búsqueda meticulosa en bases de datos científicas en inglés y español, revistas indexadas como; Google académico, Pudmed, Dialnet, Scielo, NCBI, Sciencedirect y Springer. Los resultados revelaron que la dificultad respiratoria fue la complicación más reportada. La hiperglicemia destacó como una complicación metabólica importante observada y de mayor reporte. En lo referente a las complicaciones cardiovasculares, la insuficiencia cardiaca fue la más reportada en los pacientes con covid-19. Se concluyo que las complicaciones respiratorias son prevalentes en pacientes con COVID-19, esto subrayan la necesidad de estrategias de monitoreo y tratamiento continuos.
