Assessment of the territory for the promotion of tourism: an approach from the actors in question

Especially, with the arrival of tourists to living spaces, not only the generation of environmental impacts is noticed, but also social, economic and cultural ones. On this occasion, the concern is focused on the territory, on how to make it valued by its locals and then by tourists, with a view to developing ecotourism in rural areas of a capital city in the south of the country. The research is descriptive, qualitative in nature, the instruments that were used were in-depth interviews and the production of the data was done using the Atlas ti version 9 data processing software. Among the most important findings, in the opinion of the participants, the assessment of the territory must be done from the sociocultural, the ecological and the political; As conclusions, it is highlighted that the relational ontology present in the imaginary of locals, experts, technicians and environmentalists, shows a path towards new ways of thinking about the environment and the recognition of territorial complexity.
