Conceptions of nanomedicine in students of secundary education
It presents the diagnostic phase of a research project that seeks to use nanomedicine to teach physics in 10th and 11th year secondary school classes in rural schools in Boyacá, Colombia. Nanomedicine is part of nanotechnology, and uses concepts from physics, biology, and chemistry, among other areas, to make technological developments applied to human health. This interdisciplinary aspect helps to address concepts that allow to maintain an interconnected vision of physics, biology, and chemistry courses, which can motivate students to learn physics from nanotechnology applications, thus recognising the concepts of nanomedicine that secondary school students have. The results show perceptions of nanomedicine as a more sensitive and selective tool than traditional medicine for the treatment of diseases.
