Abstract

The objective of the study is to analyze the skills performed in the labor sector by graduates of the Business Administration program of the Corporación Universitaria del Caribe - CECAR, from the perspective of businessmen and graduates. The study has a mixed approach, since the analysis of the information is carried out from the qualitative perspective according to the vision of 11 businessmen, to whom the focus group technique was applied and from the quantitative point of view, referring to the vision of 121 graduates, who were interviewed through a survey, with the purpose of deepening the investigative process, based on the philosophical paradigm, characterized by being pragmatic, since it focuses on the consequences, the usefulness of the information and the adoption of plural strategies (Hamui-Sutton, 2013). Finally, the study concludes that according to the vision that employers have about the skills developed by graduates, these are consistent with the disciplines required for their performance, they can assume other commitments within the organization depending on the tasks shown, be able to use technological tools according to the work they do and strengthen leadership skills, self-confidence, the ability to contribute ideas or simply believe in themselves. For the quantitative study, regarding the skills developed by the graduates in their jobs, they state that they develop, implement and manage administrative control systems to guarantee the efficiency of the processes; they are capable of making investment decisions and managing financial resources in the company to keep it solid and profitable; formulate marketing plans that generate new markets and customers; understands the importance of accounting as a financial system; develops and manages the knowledge of human talent to make the company more competitive.
