Brucellosis in humans and the risk factors related to the presentation of the disease in municipal camels belonging to the south zone province of Los Ríos

Brucellosis in humans is considered an infectious disease, easily infected by people who work in slaughterhouses manipulating animals that are sacrificed for human consumption. The type of research that was applied was evaluative and descriptive by the Chi Cuadrado test, where the results obtained on the incidence of Brucella were evaluated in humans considered risk groups in municipal camels belonging to the South Zone Province of Los Ríos. The entire working population of the slaughterhouses with a total of 72 people participated in the experimental work, where a structured survey, prior acceptance, and signing of the informed consent was developed, to determine the presence of factors that affect the presence of the disease. Of the 72 investigated cases, 1.38 % tested positive for the Bengal Pink Pon -plate technique corresponds to the case presented with Brucella incidence in humans. The male sex had no incidence of this disease, while the female sex obtained 1 positive case. Humans with 38 years have 1.38 % positive cases of Brucella, and other ages had no incidence of this disease. In the Babahoyo camels, there was a positive case equivalent to 1.38 % of the total sampled cases. In the Eviscerated area, there was a positive case equivalent to 1.38 % of the total sampled cases. In the risk factors studied, it was observed that the population studied does not use gloves that cover the entire arm, apron, and mask for the manipulation of animals and viscera, which represents a risk factor for the workers of the Babahoyo Camal, where A positive case of Brucella was presented in humans.
