Relationship between bad government administrative practices and the limited participation of young Ecuadorians in national politics

The political participation of young Ecuadorians is affected by a series of factors intrinsically linked to government administrative practices. The results of an exhaustive investigation reveal a direct connection between poor administrative practices, such as nepotism and corruption, and the low participation of youth in national politics. This study has shown that the erosion of citizen trust in government institutions due to these practices discourages young people from engaging in the political process. The perception that political decisions are motivated by particular interests rather than collective well-being generates a feeling of disenchantment and apathy among young people, contributing to a negative view of politics as a corrupt and unattractive field. The lack of transparency and the feeling that the political game is biased towards certain interest groups reinforce this perception. Furthermore, clientelism and nepotism exclude many young people from opportunities for political participation, limiting democratic representation and diversity of ideas in the political process. In a context where young people identify the fight against corruption as a priority, the authorities' inaction to address these concerns further undermines their interest in participating in politics. It is crucial to understand that the active participation of young people is essential for the democratic development of Ecuador. Their contribution in terms of new ideas, perspectives and political energy is essential to ensure equitable representation of interests and concerns in the national political sphere.
