Assessment of places of hydrological interest in Ecuador. A literatura review

The purpose of this paper is to carry out an exhaustive bibliographic review on the assessment of places of hydrological interest in Ecuador, also considering relevant theoretical aspects. The methodology used is descriptive, using documentary observation as the main method. For the collection of secondary information, scientific articles, theses and databases have been considered. It is concluded that the valuation of places of hydrological interest and the preservation of geological heritage not only contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge, but also enrich culture, education and recreational enjoyment of society. It is imperative to continue promoting research and conservation of these sites to guarantee their protection and sustainable use for the benefit of present and future generations in Ecuador.
