Didactic research strategies in the basic sciences with a foundation of environmental sustainability, a bibliometric analysis
The central purpose of this paper is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of academic production linked to these strategies, using the Scopus database as a source, covering the period from 2019 to 2024. The final sample consisted of 373 articles selected based on criteria of thematic relevance. The methodology adopted was based on the Bibliometrix tool (version 4.2.3), executed through the R statistical environment and its Biblioshiny interface, which enabled the identification of scientific production patterns, co-authorship networks, and thematic clusters (Campra et al., 2022). The results highlight Leal Filho et al. (2019) as the most prolific author in the area, whose work is widely referenced for its contribution to the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the field of higher education. This study provides a detailed analytical overview of the evolution and prevailing trends in the implementation of research-based teaching strategies in basic sciences, using an environmental sustainability approach. The findings constitute a significant foundation for future research aimed at strengthening the integration of sustainability into science teaching, promoting the adoption of active, contextualized methodologies aligned with the socio-environmental challenges of the 21st century.
