Abstract

The perception of equity at work affects motivation, organizational climate, and staff retention, yet most organizations do not manage this dimension deliberately. The objective of the study was to descriptively review the theories and approaches that underpin organizational justice as a central construct in human talent management. A qualitative paradigm with a functionalist approach and descriptive-explanatory scope was adopted; information was obtained through a documentary  review of secondary sources in specialized academic databases and publications. The results shows that organizational justice is articulated across four dimensions: distributive, procedural, interpersonal, and informational. Each one influences engagement, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction. Procedures perceived as fair operate as predictors of autonomous motivation, consistent with Vroom's expectancy theory and Adams' equity theory. It is concluded that organizational justice is not an exclusively ethical reference; its weakening deteriorates the psychological contract between employee and organization, reduces commitment, and increases turnover rates.
