The impact of macroeconomic policies on the financial and strategic management of a healthcare service provider in the colombian regional context
The financial management of healthcare service providers operates in a highly regulated environment strongly influenced by macroeconomic policies. Variables such as inflation, interest rates, public spending, and regulatory changes directly affect liquidity, financial sustainability, and planning capacity, particularly in regional contexts. This chapter aims to analyze the impact of the macroeconomic environment on financial planning in a healthcare service provider from a strategic management perspective. Methodologically, a qualitative approach with a descriptive–analytical scope is adopted, supported by a case study method and documentary analysis. The results show that the analyzed institution prioritizes defensive financial strategies focused on liquidity management and working capital optimization in response to a restrictive macroeconomic environment. The study concludes that adaptive financial planning is a key factor in strengthening organizational resilience and ensuring sustainability in highly uncertain economic and regulatory contexts.
