Abstract

Organizational development is a key factor for business competitiveness and sustainability. This study aimed to analyze the impact of internal diagnosis of the administrative process on organizational development in a Colombian commercial-sector company. A quantitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational design was used. Data  were  collected through a  Likert-scale survey applied to 40 employees, assessing planning, organizing, leading, and controlling dimensions. The instrument showed adequate reliability (α = 0.89). Results indicated that the control dimension had the lowest level of development (mean = 2.6), followed by direction (mean = 2.9), while organization showed the highest level (mean = 3.8). Weaknesses were identified in goal communication, staff training, and process monitoring. It is concluded that internal diagnosis is a key tool to identify critical management gaps affecting organizational development and supports strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
