Abstract

This article analyzes the feasibility of a natural shampoo based on arazá (Eugenia stipitata) in the Colombian Amazon market, integrating market, technical, and financial dimensions. The study follows a quantitative descriptive–evaluative approach, using data from a survey applied to 400 potential consumers, as well as technical and financial information derived from product design. The results show high product acceptance, with 53% preference for organic products and over 90% purchase intention, indicating  strong  market  potential. From a technical perspective, the product demonstrates adequate formulation and stability, with a pH range between 5.5 and 6.5, suitable for human scalp use. Financially, the analysis indicates that the project is viable, with a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of COP 15,200,000 and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 28%, exceeding the opportunity cost of capital. It is concluded that the production and commercialization of arazá-based shampoo represents a strategic opportunity for the sustainable use of Amazonian resources, contributing to regional business development and innovation in the natural cosmetics sector.
